About The China Guys

Why Track China?

The new world order is a tangled web of cultural, economic, and political ambitions. China’s opaque political economy provides an unprecedented challenge to those unfamiliar with the cultural and historical undercurrents driving Beijing’s global movements.

Who Is TCG?

We’re a crew of guys and gals who have spent our professional and academic careers learning to decode China. Our crew of China Watchers come from diverse backgrounds with deep in-country experience that allows us to cut through the noise and connect the dots behind Beijing’s activity.

We Became China Experts…
So You Don’t Have To

Now, more than ever, a clear-eyed view of the dynamics shaping China is imperative as a global citizen. While we live to immerse ourselves in the Sinosphere, we realize it’s not for everyone. We track everything China – so you don’t have to – and bring activity in the Middle Kingdom down to Earth through digestible insights in our weekly newsletters and articles.
